Zhongan United Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. is located in Anhui (Huainan) Modern Coal Chemical Industry Park. It was established in December 2010. It is a large-scale coal chemical integration enterprise established according to the strategic cooperation agreement signed between Anhui provincial government and Sinopec Group in January 2009. It is a joint venture between Sinopec and Wanbei coal and electricity. The registered capital of the company is 8 billion yuan, and both shareholders hold 50% equity.
On October 30, 2023, the first round of coupled biomass pulverized coal gasification (biomass mixed gasification) industrial test of Zhongan United Coal Co., Ltd. was successfully completed, which will help reduce fossil energy consumption and carbon emissions.
According to reports, the test is a project entrusted by Sinopec for technology development, and is jointly undertaken by Zhongan to carry out industrial tests on the key technology of mixed gasification of biomass powder and pulverized coal with forest, straw and other agricultural and forestry wastes as the main components. In order to obtain test data with high standards and promote the utilization of biomass resources as a whole, China and an jointly invited experts and scholars from Sinopec Chemical Division, Great Wall Energy and Chemical Company, Ningbo Research Institute of Technology, East China University of Science and Technology and other units to participate in the demonstration and optimization of the biomass test burning scheme, jointly study and formulate the biomass blending industrial test scheme, and complete the calibration of 10% biomass blending pulverized coal line in mid-August, laying the test work.
This round of industrial tests lasted for 11 days, using the SE Dongfang furnace of the China-An combined coal gasification plant to carry out the demonstration operation of the coupled biomass gasification industry. The experimental work was carried out in an orderly manner according to the biomass blending ratio of 5%, 10% and 15%, with a total of 1915 tons of mixed biomass. The test results show that the transportation, slag hanging, process operation, gasification and slag type of the SE Dongfang furnace are normal, and the residual carbon content in the coarse slag and filter cake and the effective gas content of the crude synthesis gas are all within the index range.
During the test, Zhongan jointly set up a trial burning working group, the whole process of biomass mixing gasification work. In view of the characteristics of low calorific value, high volatile matter and low grindability of biomass, the trial burning team strengthened sampling and analysis, continuously optimized the process, adjusted the fuel gas ratio, and increased the frequency of oxygen-coal ratio adjustment to ensure the smooth progress of the trial burning.
